|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Sit||Comment: First session for Cez was door and gate manners. He has been quite pushy in the kennels and forgetting his manners. As he is a big strong dog it is important that Cez doesn’t use his strength to get west he wants. Cez struggled to hold a sit while waiting to go through the gates. The trainer increased the treats until the gate was able to be opened without Cez barging his way through. By the end of the session Cez was starting to hold sit longer west opening gates and waiting to walk through them.||Focus: Repetition||C|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Next up was continuing on with door manners and loose lead walking in between times. Again Cez has forgotten his skills in the highly stimulating environment. He pulled a lot down the main aisle of the kennel. The trainer continued to change direction and Cez did start to settle and walk better even when another staff member walked passed. Once outside the kennel building Cez started to pull again and struggled to be calm and focus. Next time the trainer will incorporate some play into the training to help Cez continue to learn impulse control.||Focus: Repetition||C+|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Last up was drop. This was done near the kennels and although dropped well Cez didn’t hold the position and jumped up straight away. The trainer took Cez back a step and lured him into position and rewarded frequently to help him hold position longer. Next training sessions the trainer will focus on holding position longer as well working on place.||Focus: Distraction||C+|
