Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: In his first session, Cadbury focused on learning the new skill never-ending hanky while holding a drop duration. Cadbury initially broke his drop once at the beginning of the session but began to maintain it well as the session progressed. He performed well with his never-ending hanky, he interacted with the hanky quickly touching it with his nose. However, he can lose focus quickly and require some guidance to redirect his focus. This can be done by a short engagement game (mark with yes and reward when eye contact is given) or by placing food on the hanky. Focus: Foundation B
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: In his second session, Cadbury focused on conditioning to grooming and multiple dogs within the classroom while holding a drop with duration. Cadbury performed well, he was happy for the trainer to brush him all over while the dogs worked around him. He showed no signs of reactivity towards the other dogs and little interest in them at all. Focus: Conditioning A
Skill learnt: Targeting (touch) Comment: In his final session, Cadbury focused on further developing his skill touch within the high distracting classroom. Cadbury was initially distracted by the active classroom environment and showed little engagement. The trainer played a simple engagement game to redirect his focus before beginning his touch skill. Once engaged Cadbury performed well. He would touch the spoon with his nose repeatedly. He can lose focus quickly while training this skill. Focus: Foundation C+
