Buddy did well today with his training we tried to do as many distractions especially around other dogs as he just loves to get distracted by them
It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.
Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!
"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."
|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Spin||Comment: In buddys first session we trained spin, he knows the skill well but I have found he has to jump to do the spin, and when you reward that your basically rewarding his jumping as well. So what we were trying to do was go back to the basic and lure his nose around low so he wouldn’t jump, which he did find it hard but got there towards the end.||Focus: Distraction||B+|
|Skill learnt: Conditioning||Comment: In his second session we trained retrieve fetch, with this skill first reward when he has the object in his mouth so say ‘yes’ and treat. Then slowly one he has the object in his mouth see if he will come to you, but don’t reward until he drops it at your feet. Normally when you say yes he knows that equals to a treat so he will drop it anyway. We tried a ball then a tug toy which he got bored of them pretty easily, but he did do pretty good, he was dropping the tug toy at my feet towards the end.||Focus: Repetition||C+|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Buddys last session we trained Loose lead walking inside with dog distraction, I wanted to train him around another dog to see how well he is around them, he was quite distracted at first just wanted to watch the other dog. Towards the end he started to focus, once the other dog got put away we then went outside and did the rest of the skill out there, again he was still distracted by all the smells.||Focus: Distraction||B|
