Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: Buddy’s first session was classroom conditioning and place. Buddy was very distracted by the new environment and although the trainer tried engagement games he was still very distracted. The trainer introduced him to place, which as the session progressed Buddy did settle and although still distracted managed to hold place well with little trainer movement around him. We would recommend a private session to enable us to give you the knowledge and skills to help with Buddy’s training at home. To be successful Buddy needs consistency with his training and a private session will help everyone to be on the same page. Focus: Conditioning C+
Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building) Comment: Because Buddy was distracted so much the trainer took him to the confidence course. Buddy was happy to go around with the trainer running beside him but the minute that stopped he wanted out and started jumping. Buddy did stop the jumping towards the end but next time it would be good to see Buddy want to go around without trying to escape to get to the trainer on the other side of the fence. Focus: Repetition X
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Last session for Buddy was drop. This session understandably was his best. He had settled into the classroom better and was much less distracted. He also started happily taking treats at this time. Up until this session he was to distracted to take the treats. The trainer worked on helping Buddy to learn to stay in the drop position and not jump up straight away. This skill is going to go a long way to helping Buddy to not jump. So a good strong drop is what he needs. Although Buddy has a little way to go the progress made today was fantastic and he learns very quickly. Focus: Duration C+
