Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: In Buddy’s first session today we trained place with duration, like to train this first as it is a self soothing skill and helps puppy’s clam. He did do pretty well, he would break when someone would walk pass, but with some corrections he improved. In his next level I’d still like to work on this with him. Focus: Duration B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: I’m his second session we trained drops, we had another dog in the classroom that is very over excited another border collie, he was winging abit I would put him into a drop and if he didn’t go into the drop because he was to distracted I would then step on the lead close to him until he would correct his self. Once I did that I would reward with ‘yes’ and a pat as he wasn’t taking food. I would keep repeating that showing him he can drop no matter the distrac Focus: Duration C+
Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building) Comment: In his last session we went down to the Confidence course, he was going through it if I was walking around with him but once I stoped he would wait at the gate to be let out. But that’s what must dogs do, we didn’t stay down there long because it was quite hot. Focus: Repetition A+
