Boat's Doggy Dayschool Report

2024-02-27

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For his first session we worked on loose lead outside before it got too hot. Boat did well with this even around another dog and the gardener with this hose - he wasn't distracted at all by them today! He did get distracted by another trainer coming around the corner but was easy to get back in focus. Keep it up! Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For his second session we worked on the "give" skill. Boat is quite good at this skill, as soon as the trainer would get food to trade he would drop the item. Make sure you are practicing this at home and trading off for higher value items along with the "give" verbal cue. We practiced a few reps at the end without the trainer holding food and he would still release the tug toy when asked to "give" (and was then rewarded with food). Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For his last session we did some back to basics with the hold skill (as he likes to chew the item or take it away). By holding either side of the item and not letting go we were able to encourage him to just hold it and reward for not chewing the item. Keep working on this at home and pairing it with the "give" skill. Focus: Back to Basics B

We recommend your next step should be…
