Skill | Comment | We focused on | Grade |
---|---|---|---|
Skill learnt: Place Training | Comment: Bo Peep worked on her place training with Woody while the trainer was running around doing silly things like sweeping crazily and dropping a bucket of toys! Bo Peep did break position a couple times when the trainer got a bit close with the broom or another trainer entered the room. Bo Peep's focus was easily redirected if she did start to become a bit over-excited by all the energy. Bo Peep seemed to struggle a little more than Woody so make sure to reward her frequently and watch those energy levels. Remember to reset - release from skill move around and try again! | Focus: Distraction | B |
Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building) | Comment: Bo Peep struggled a little bit with this today. The first time she went around she was a bit hesitant but didn't need much guidance, the second and third time she realised that things moved/swayed underneath her and she became a bit more cautious. We made sure to keep her going as we didnt want her to end on a negative note! We were able to get her around the whole course the third time, using lots of treats and plenty of encouragement! It goes to show that if you let her, she will start to overthink simple tasks! Make sure to keep pushing her and introduce lots of challenges and repeat them often! | Focus: Confidence | C+ |
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) | Comment: We finished up with some loose lead and middles at the pony club. Bo Peep was nice and engaged in this environment, following the trainers movements nicely. We threw in some middles randomly to keep her interested! Bo Peep struggled a little bit going into middles from the front but did well going around the back, her duration in position was also really good. | Focus: Distraction | B+ |
