Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Engagement Comment: (Activating drive) When getting out bo-peep today the trainer first tried to get her into the classroom to do some “hoop jump” however something seemed to be putting her off today, she was still taking treats but she was just a little off wanting to stay in a drop on the couch rather than do the hoop skill, this could be for many reasons however the trustee believes the horrible weather is what’s throwing her off. In order for her to have a productive day the trainer switched this session to activating her drive, this is done by doing skills she knows well, chaining them together and having lots of fun with these skills, the trainer was able to activate her drive close to the end of the session and she is ready for the rest of her day. Focus: Confidence C+
Skill learnt: Targeting (touch) Comment: For her second session today the trainer took Bo through some more touch targeting but she was conditioned to a new item today. In the class room we have free standing touch poles which the trainer is able to place on the floor out of their hands, she was conditioned to these today so the trainer could start including some distance into her touch targeting training. For now since new criteria is being asked if the dog we must make it as easy as possible for her to succeed. This is why the trainer had the two poles close to each other today and she was just asked to move between the two of them at a short distance. She did great this session really recovering from being off the first session and making some real progress this session. Focus: Conditioning B
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For her final session the trainer wanted to really push Bo with one of her better know skills so they worked on her loose lead. To make sure she was being pushed she was walked around all of the pet resort today around all the dogs staying with us, not only this she was also consistently asked to get into a drop while walking right in front of the other dogs pens. She was amazing at this being able to do this skill without any need of lures and was responding to hand gestures and verbals, this was an amazing final session for Bo and the trainer is very surprised by her progress! Focus: Distraction B
