Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Blue's first session focused on further developing his loose lead and obedience skill sit. To begin with we walked around the facilities and at random would command 'sit'. When there were more distractions present Blue was more distracted and slower to respond. To further build on this we started to play rev up settle down which he loved! He became more focused within the environment, gained more confidence and was more consistent when commands were given. Blue really enjoyed running up and down the driveway with the trainer with random 'sits' and did very well with his loose lead. Play is a great way to assist with developing their engagement as well as confidence. Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Desensitisation Comment: Up and down and up and down! Blue was very good with his stair training today. We focused on not letting him walk in front of the handler to ensure he was slowly going up and down. We recommend having him on lead when going up and down the stairs as he will require consistency with this skill. Utilise gates or blocks if possible so he is unable to race up and down. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Drop is not a very strong skill for Blue so we worked on this with play (the same as his first session). It took a while for Blue to get into it but BOOM once he was more confident in the environment he smashed it! He was really good with revving up and settling down into the drop. Throughout this session 3 cars entered / left the facility and he didn't even look or fixate on them. Great job today buddy! Focus: Repetition A+

We recommend your next step should be…
