Blue's Doggy Dayschool Report

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Blue was very excitable to start off with today. He did struggle with his engagement but did eventually settle though wasn't taking treats (we just rewarded with head scratches). When another dog and trainer entered the room he did pull on the lead towards them but was able to go back to fairly decent loose lead though he could still work on his basics around distractions and increasing his engagement. Try high value food during walks to help him focus and be more interested in you rather than the distractions around him. Focus: Back to Basics B
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: Blue was very distracted by the other dog during his second session. He still wasn't taking treats or engaging with the owner but was very sooky and just wanted to sit in the trainer's lap. We just spent this session conditioning him to the environment and other dog to help build his confidence. He showed some displacement behaviours such as yawning to show he felt a bit stressed. Focus: Confidence X
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: For his last session we worked on drops from the stand position. Blue seemed a lot more focused and comfortable with no other people on the room and while it took a while he did start following the lure into drop. He did a few from a sit when being lured from a stand so we worked on tidying that up and then starting to build duration in drop which he did quite well with! At home keep working on having him go into drop from stand and then having him hold it until he hears "break". Focus: Foundation B+
