Skill | Comment | We focused on | Grade |

Skill learnt: Place Training | Comment: Bleu was happy to see his trainer today, he was a little unsure when it came to attaching the lead but after some treats and encouragement we were able to make our way to the classroom. Once here we worked on his place skill, there were two other dogs being trained at the same time (plus more in crates) as well as another person fixing some rope to the ceiling, so lots going on! Bleu did really well to remain on place, only breaking position once or twice throughout the whole session! Keep building his confidence around new people, he did well today to work around that many people while still doing his skill! | Focus: Distraction | B |
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down | Comment: This session focused on building some duration in his drop position. Bleu showed some prior knowledge of this skill so we were able to jump straight into building duration around mild distractions. He held his drop with another dog being trained and some people coming/going from the classroom. He did break position a few times but that was mostly when the trainer tried to challenge him a bit more, if that did happen we took a step back and built back up! | Focus: Duration | B |
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) | Comment: Lastly Bleu practiced his loose lead walking. We started in the classroom, he showed some good focus in here so we decided to make our way outside. While out here he started off well but then a gust of wind moved a banner which made a loud noise against the fence. Bleu became quite distracted/unsure. We made sure to remain in this area until he settled so he didn’t associate the scary banner each time he comes this way. He recovered really quickly and we were able to finish off the session back inside the classroom. We then scattered lots of treats near the banner so he could make peace with it! | Focus: Distraction | B |
