|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Biggie’s first session was place. At first he wasn’t wanting to on the bed for very long but he soon settled and was holding place with the trainer moving around him. When the trainer got Biggie to start holding position while the trainer didn’t provide a distraction Biggie broke again. But the trainer did it a couple of times and he did start to lay down which was awesome to see. Going forward it would be a goal to get Biggie really starting to settle on the place bed regardless of the distractions.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Second session for Biggie was drop. Again the trainer had to back track a little with Biggie for him to remember that he had to stay in the drop position until he was released. Biggie started to increase his duration well. Another trainer walked into the room and Biggie lost focus and it take a while to get it back. He got very excited but the trainer did use the opportunity to help Biggie learn that he can’t jump up on people. Keep working on drops with Biggie, with a focus on duration as this is what will help teach him not to jump.||Focus: Duration||C+|
|Skill learnt: Play||Comment: For Biggie’s final session the trainer decided to play red light green light. This is a game that gives the dog a controlled play outlet but helps them learn to listen when in a heightened state of arousal. For this game the trainer used a rope toy and played with Biggie and then sent him to place. The game commences again when Biggie is on place correctly. Biggie progressed well with this as the session went on and is a game that can be played incorporating his drops later.||Focus: Repetition||C+|
