Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: For Bentley’s first session the trainer worked on place. After a quick couple of place sessions inside the classroom the trainer took Bentley up near the kennels to practice his place training near other dogs. He was quite nervous but held place well. Keep practicing at home increasing the distractions. Front driveway is always a good option. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Bentley’s second session focused on loose lead walking. As his skill with this is quite good the trainer again took him up near the kennels. He did well so the trainer pushed Bentley a bit further and did some work within the kennel. At first he was nervous but soon settled well with no reaction to the other dogs as well. The trainer would like to continue to work on this with Bentley to help get him desensitised to the this area and the other dogs. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building) Comment: For his final session Bentley tackled the confidence course. This will help build his confidence around different environments and textures underfoot. He did so well and completed the course a number of times, although hesitant in parts, he soon overcame this and whizzed through at least once without hesitating. Focus: Repetition B
