|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Bentley’s first session was loose lead walking. The trainer took him to another part of the property that Bentley hadn’t been to before. It was up a hill and although he walked well up the hill when it came time to head back to the classroom Bentley wanted to power ahead. The trainer changed direction and also did sits and drops to help slow Bentley down. Bentley also struggled with wanting to drop and not sit. So repetitions of these on the way helped Bentley establish his sits again.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Place with around was the focus of the second session. Bentley was very vocal today towards other dogs. This was while he was in the yard as well as in the classroom. The trainer kept him busy in the classroom and this helped distracted Bentley and the barking stopped. He did well with this skill as long as he wasn’t heading towards the door!! The trainer had Bentley going around the tripod that was near the back of the classroom as opposed to the cone that was near the front! Bentley does struggle if he thinks he maybe going in the direction of “Home”||Focus: Distraction||C+|
|Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building)||Comment: Last up was the confidence course. It was great to see Bentley head around the course before the trainer had latched the gate. After he had gone around once he the waited for the trainer to encourage him around a few times more! He then stood for the pats!! Awesome to see him going around the course alone!!||Focus: Confidence||X|
