Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Bentley’s first session was loose lead walk in the paddocks. He did a great job with no pulling. Considering he’d not been for a couple of weeks he did a fantastic job. As he headed towards the classroom he started to pull a couple of time but changing direction got him engaged again and he walked much better. Focus: Conditioning B+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Next up was drops. Bentley has a habit of not dropping straight if not heading towards the gate. To help straighten Bentley up the trainer walked the fence line and got Bentley to drop between the fence and her. This helped Bentley be in position better and after a few rounds of this Bentley was able to drop straighter away from the fence! Great session. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Last up for Bentley was a little obstacle course which involved going through hoops, around and paws up. Before adding in paws up Bentley did an amazing job and did around with just pointing and a verbal cue. When the trainer added paws up in the middle of the circuit, it threw Bentley a bit and took a while for him to continue how he had been going. But he ended up on a good note and trainer and Bentley enjoyed end of sessions cuddles! Focus: Repetition B
