Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Bentley’s first session was loose lead walking with paws up on things along the way. Once leaving the yard Bentley was pulling towards the office. A couple of drops slowed things down and after passing the office Bentley slowed down and settled well. Along the way Bentley did paws up and a few logs and tree stumps. In the past a little leasable pressure was needed and encouragement. However this time Bentley was more than happy to do it with a wagging tail! Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Middle Position Comment: Next up was the short persons version of middles. For the most part Bentley was quite engaged with the trainer but was also looking for the door. The trainer started with two arm circle but progressed to one arm, with the aim to get the arm on the hip. Bentley did a great job and was really happy doing the skill. Lots of fun. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: Last up as, John was not around, was drops/sits and recalls in the training yard. Bentley struggled when not facing the yard and classroom. He would turn and try to face that way regardless. When doing a recall he would head straight pass the trainer. Because of this the trainer utilized the fence to help keep Bentley in place better and this worked well. However as soon as he was away from the fence he started to angle towards the yards. Next time it will be great to see him concentrate on the job at hand and not thinking about heading to to yards. Focus: Repetition C+
