Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: First session Beani worked on his drop. Today we worked outside the kennels to focus on his engagement and calm mindset around other dogs. Beani did quite well this session around the other dogs and had no reactions. He can be slow on his drop as he prefers to sit first before sliding down into the drop. While in the drop his duration is good only breaking a handful of times. Keep working in new environments and his speediness about going into his drops. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Middle Position Comment: Beanis second session we worked on middles. He needed a lure to get into position initially so we worked on lots of repetition to help get a strong foundation. After repetition Beani was responding to the verbal and required less luring so we worked on building his duration. Focus: Back to Basics C+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Final session Beani had some fun learning how to wave. He has some understanding of paw/shake, so to teach this we held out hand out and asked for that skill and moved our hand away and marked as he “waved”. He progressed well and we were able to start waving at him to ask for the skill. He still isn’t 100% reliable in it but with more practise he will be waving goodbye in no time! Focus: Foundation B
