Barney can be easily distracted with that puppy brain of his but he showed better engagement as the sessions progressed!
It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.
Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!
"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."
|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: The trainer focused on red light green light with Barney's drops to discourage his jumping. Barney jumps for attention and when he is over excited therefore it was good for him to be revved up and then put in a calm and controlled position at random. Barney struggles with the verbal cue with drops and only responded with a hand signal. This would be a good goal to focus on - getting him to drop on verbal cue in distracting environments.||Focus: Repetition||B|
|Skill learnt: Play||Comment: We made the most of the sunshine when it was out today! This session Barney was on a long line outside doing a greetings session with the trainer. This developed into getting Barney to 'sit' instead of jumping when the trainer called him. Barney is a very sociable boy so it is important that manners are implemented with the greetings. |Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Barney really struggles with loose lead in a distracting environment therefore the trainer worked on increasing his engagement before starting the walk. They played the food toss game to begin with and gradually started their loose lead when he was engaged. Although he pulled occasionally, he started to respond better to the trainer turning and made good decisions such as sitting when the trainer stopped and ignoring staff as they walked by. Well done Barney!||Focus: Back to Basics||B|
