|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: For his first session today to get him focused we worked on his loose lead outside on the way to the classroom. He was very skittish to the sound of the kennel dogs and the birds but after a while he became engaged with the trainer. He got distracted by people walking past so to improve this it needs to be practiced with fewer distractions and slowly build it up. We also worked on his place outside for a couple minutes, so the next session will be dedicated to this with a few distractions.||Focus: Distraction||C+|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: For his second session today we worked on sending him to place and working on his duration. He did very well for the most part. However when another dog was training he was quite distracted and broke a couple times but was quick to correct himself. He didn’t overly understand when he was released and had to be coaxed off place most times. He still did very well with all the distractions in the classroom. To improve this it just needs to be repeated and worked on as much as possible.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object)||Comment: For his last session today we worked on paws up. This is a great way to help him gain confidence in putting his feet on unusual things. He was hesitant to use the little plastic step but we moved to a chair and he did much better. We slowly went back to the step and he eventually got the idea and started putting one paw up. To improve this he should practice on lots of different objects with different textures.||Focus: Confidence||C+|
