Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: In his first session, Baloo focused on further developing his skill loose lead around the pet retreat facility. Baloo was initially excited to be training, he initially showed challenging behaviour of pulling on the lead. The trainer used his known skill drop to help redirect his focus. Quickly Baloo began to focus on this trainer performing well. Once engaged he ignores distractions and walks very well. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: In his second session, Baloo focused on further developing his skill drop with the duration of distractions. We focused on this skill as Baloo can struggle with duration and proof his drop under distractions. Baloo performed well, he showed great engagement and only broke drop once in the whole session. Today Baloo remained in drop despite, musical instruments, human moments, balls, toys and while giant Jenga blocks fell to the floor. The trainer was very impressed with Baloo during this session. Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: In his final session, Baloo focused on further developing his skill paws up by introducing the rear end awareness (two front paws on bucket, back paws move around the bucket). Baloo performed well with his paws up, he quickly places his front paws onto the bucket. The trainer used spatial pressure (moving towards him) to encourage Baloo to move his back legs. Baloo was initially unsure of what the trainer was asking but after several repetitions, he quickly began to move with minimal guidance from the trainer. Focus: Foundation B
