Bailey did well today, he was a bit hesitant to start with but quickly got into the routine.
It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.
Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!
"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."
|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Baileys first session today was focused on his drop skill on different surfaces. We tested him on smooth and rough cement, grass, dirt, gravel and even yoga mats. He did really well with all of these surfaces but just needs work on his duration and distraction threshold. He might be struggling on certain surfaces because the environment is too different or distracting. There are lots of elements to take into consideration but he has good knowledge of his drops so it won’t be hard to figure out if it’s the surfaces or the environment! Remember to use high value treats when working outside of the home or in new environments.||Focus: Back to Basics||B|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: For his second session today we worked on his impulse control. For this we used his place skill to test him! We sent him to place and waited for him to settle, he got very vocal while on place so we didn’t reward him until he was quiet. Once he was quiet we started to move around, throw tennis balls, play with toys and sit down near him. He did well with most of these, the one thing he really struggled with was when the trainer walked away from him or was sat just out of reach. If he did go to step off we said “ah ah” and guided him back on. This is a great skill to teach them settle while all sorts of weird things are going on. Keep working on this one at home!||Focus: Distraction||B+|
|Skill learnt: Spin||Comment: His last session today focused on his spin skill. We worked with a lure to start with as we weren’t sure how much knowledge he already has with this skill. Bailey follows a lure really well so we could use this to teach him the skill. We had to move the lure slowly otherwise he would lose interest and turn back around. We made sure to keep going the same way (to his left) to make it easier. Keep working on this one, when he is 3/4 of the way around mark “yes” and reward when he is facing you.||Focus: Foundation||C+|
We recommend your next step should be…

B: Great Work (80-89%) I mostly understand, Almost neat & complete! Needs practice in some areas. Mild distractions
C: Well Done (70-79%) Some good progress. Needs work, but on my way. Still learning. Low distractions.
D: Beginning (60-69%) My journey is just beginning, I don’t understand just yet. Introduction phase. No distraction.
E: Unable to Progress. Needs major focus, seek further options to assist.
X: Not gradable, the focus was on Enrichment, Socialisation & Engagement.
