Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Bailey’s first session was drops in the office. With a couple of people coming and going initially Bailey struggled to hold position. As the distractions lessened Bailey settled and held position better. The trainer was able to go out of sight of Bailey for a little time and Bailey held position. She did break again near the end of the session when another person left the office. Going forward it would be good to see Bailey hold regardless of people coming and going. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Middle Position Comment: Second session for Bailey was middle. Bailey smashed this skill at the start of the session but did get a bit sloppy towards the end. The trainer has faded out the lure and just used hand gestures. Although sometimes Bailey needs reminding that she has to sit in middle, she has done a great job. The trainer started getting Bailey do come into middle from different directions which is when Bailey started losing focus. The trainer then took it back a step and the focus started to come back. Awesome work Bailey. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Loose lead walking was the last session for Bailey. This was done at the kennel yards with loud dogs nearby. She did look at the dogs but generally she did ignore them which was great. She did however, get very distracted by the smells in the grass. Next time it will be good to train her in the main grassed area to help her learn to resist those good smells. Focus: Distraction B
