|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Conditioning||Comment: The first area we worked on with Bailey was building her confidence in the new environment. She was a little more nervous and hesitant with the unfamiliar trainer so we worked on settling her in the environment and explored the facility grounds. There were a lot of trainer and dog distractions present so we redirected her focus to the trainer but still allowed her to explore.||Focus: Conditioning||A|
|Skill learnt: Recall||Comment: By the second session Bailey was settled and confident with the trainer. We worked on further developing her recall skill with the use of her food rewards and added dog distractions on either side of her. She did well recalling from short distances with the distractions. Slowly building the distance with higher distractions would be a good area to focus on as well as her end position. Ideally an end position for a recall is them sitting with their chin resting on your stomach looking up.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Play||Comment: Bailey can lose focus and become distracted easily and we wanted to work on her drive today so we introduced play with a tug. She required some encouragement to play with the tug. This was achieved through the use of showing her that there's is a game involved and that I am having fun with this item. She got so focused on what I was playing with that eventually she wanted to play with it too which was when we were able to play tug properly around other dog distractions. Fantastic work Bailey!||Focus: Foundation||B|
