It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Bailey’s first session was loose lead walking. She was super excited and bouncy but continual change of direction meant Bailey needed to start paying attention or she got left behind. Bailey soon settled and the trainer kept to the less distracting part of the yard to help Bailey focus. Keep distractions low and sessions short for Bailey. Focus: Distraction C
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Next up was place. Bailey did really well with this. There were dog distractions in the classroom and Bailey held place well with those distractions. The trainer started to increase the distance from Bailey and moved around the bed. Bailey broke a few times for this distraction so the trainer came a little closer to the bed until Bailey was able to hold place better. Try training place on the front verandah at times, to get Bailey used to working with those different distractions. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Last up was drop. Bailey did struggle with this and needed a lure for the full session. However, as the session progressed, even though needing the lure to get into position, Bailey began to do a great job in holding the drop while the trainer took a couple of steps away. At home try fading out the lure slowly, so Bailey can begin to rely on a hand signal. Focus: Repetition C

We recommend your next step should be…
