Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: In Baileys first session today we trained place duration. I wanted to train this skill first because he was a bit on edge, we trained this skill around another dog which is a great distraction and also use as impulse control because he has to stay on place rather then wanting to get to the dog or the other trainer. he didn’t do to bad in this skill he did progress well though. Every time I would release him from place he would want to walk over to the door though but that’s okay he’s just abit anxious but it’s fantastic he’s coming because of that behaviour. Focus: Duration C+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Bailey’s second session we trained drops duration. He was still anxious but that’s okay the more he comes the more he will feel more comfortable. He wasn’t really listening to me so I would have to use lead pressure down into the drop with lots of treats, he would listen to me every now and then which was good. Focus: Duration C+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Bailey’s last session we trained Loose lead walking with impulse control, now impulse control is basically a distraction but while there doing a certain skill, like his impulse control was getting to the door in the training shed it can be so little basics whatever they want to get to. He did so much better in this session, he was engaging with me and we also had another dog in training as well which he did not bark at which was amazing. Focus: Distraction B
