Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning Comment: First session Aslan worked on his muzzle conditioning. Today we focused on having the muzzle on while he does skills like sit, drop, spin and some walking around while incorporating some play and cuddles to keep it a fun and positive experience. While doing his skills Aslan doesn’t seem bothered by the muzzle being on but when just walking around he can try to paw at it to get it off, to help with this we redirect his focus back to us with some treats and a cuddle, ask for a sit or drop and then remove the muzzle, have a play and repeat. Focus: Conditioning B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Aslans second session we continued on his skateboard trick. He can still initially he a bit hesitant to step on it but quickly gets excited by the trick. He still needs some help by having our foot slightly in front of the skateboard so it doesn’t roll too far to quickly as he is still building his confidence up with it moving. Each time we work on this he is showing more confidence and eagerness to stay on the skateboard while it moves. Focus: Distance C+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Final session we worked on Aslans loose lead. Today we worked in the classroom as there were other dogs around to push the distraction level. Initially he was quite distracted and unfocused and struggled to stay on the left side of the trainer. To help regain his focus we did some drop repetitions. By the end of the session he was trotting alongside the trainer with minimal pulling ahead. Keep working on this at home in low distraction environments. Focus: Distraction B
