Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Aslan's first session was loose lead walking. The trainer did this in the driveway in view of customers arriving. Aslan did take a while to..settle and was distracted by the people and dogs. But as the session progressed he did quite well. Aslan wasn't taking treats so the trainer kept changing directions and Aslan responded well. Very little pulling towards the end of the session. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Next session for Aslan was place. The trainer started the session inside but then moved outside. Another dog was being trained outside as well as boarding dogs near. Aslan did get very excited and broke off place a number of times. Again once outside he doesn't take treats. So the trainer encouraged and rewarded Aslan with pats and words. Aslan did well in this session considering the distractions. However, it is something that still needs further work to really get Aslan to resist those distractions. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning Comment: Aslan’s final session was muzzle training and he smashed it!!! He was very keen to put his nose in and the trainer got it done up pretty quickly. The trainer then had a little run and play around with Aslan while it was on. You just need to be careful to not allow him to get it off with his foot as it can’t be attached at the bottom at the moment. The next time the trainer got the muzzle on again quickly and just had Aslan on place and had cuddles. He did an awesome job. Focus: Repetition B
