|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Aslan’s first session was place. He was very excited and easily distracted. The trainer couldn’t move far from the place bed without Aslan jumping of and trying to run. Very excited. Towards the end of the session he was managing to stay on place a bit better but again was still distracted by what was going on in the room. He was also very noisy in the crate today.||Focus: Distraction||C+|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: As Aslan was very excited today the trainer felt that it trick training might be better as it would help not to have that pressure in his neck. The trainer put Aslan on place and started to teach the skill touch. However, again he was very distracted and wouldn’t engage at first with the trainer. As the session progressed, Aslan settle enough to start thinking about how to get treats and was starting to grasp that he needed to touch the stick to get a treat. This is a good exercise to help with engagement when a dog is food motivated.||Focus: Repetition||C+|
|Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning||Comment: Muzzle training was Aslan’s final session and he was a little more settled this time, however not settled enough we could get the muzzle done up today. He is very keen to have his nose in the muzzle to get the treats but really struggled to be ok with the straps going around his head. The trainer focused on this again and he is progressing. Today though with his excitement levels it was hard work!||Focus: Repetition||C+|
