Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: In her first session, Arya was very excited and distracted by the new environment. The trainer used this time to play an engagement game to begin redirecting her focus onto the trainer. This also allowed for the trainer to begin conditioning her reward marker 'yes' with treats. Arya progressed well though out the session, initially, she would not look at the trainer, as the session progressed she began to offer engagement (looking at the trainer) for a treat. Focus: Conditioning X
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: In her second session, Arya focused on conditioning to the classroom and dogs in crates (not visible). Arya was very distracted during this session, showing little engagement with the trainer and was showing signs of reactivity (barking). The trainer used the engagement game to help redirect her focus, Arya struggled to follow a lure within this environment. As the session progressed the trainer moved outside the classroom to help build engagement. This worked well, however once in the classroom, she lost all engagement again. Focus: Conditioning X
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: In her final session, Arya focused on conditioning to the classroom and beginning to learn the skill drop. In this session, the classroom environment was quiet and minimal dogs and people were inside. This helped her relax and focus in this environment, she successfully followed a lure into the drop position. When in the position she showed little knowledge of duration. The trainer was very proud of her progress in this session. Focus: Foundation C
