Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Arlo started off his day with his ‘bow’ skill, focusing on duration and balancing an object. He did so well! Arlo successfully stayed in his bow until released, with the help of treatos of course though, and by the end of the session he was able to balance a halloween bucket on his bottom!! Keep practicing this skill with him at home and slowly start fading his lure! In the future we would love for Arlo to be able to perform this skill without the need of treats. AMAZING work!! Focus: Duration B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Next up, Arlo kept working on his ‘ring toss’ trick. He is getting so good at this!! He is picking up the quoits at a great height and is getting so much better at dropping it close to, if not on, the wooden stand every time. Unfortunately he did not get a ring on the stick today, but he came so close and gave it 100%! Keep practicing this skill at home and remember to heavily reward if he is really close to doing it, so he knows that, that is what he has to keep aiming for! Super proud!! Focus: Repetition B+
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: For Arlo’s final session, he worked on his ‘recall’ skill outside on a long line while it wasn’t raining. Arlo did superb!! He came exactly when called, even with dog distractions around him! If you are having trouble with his recall at home, remember to be the most exciting thing for him, use funny noises and movements to help if you need! Very proud of Mr. Arlo today! Focus: Distraction A
