|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: We started Arlo's training with loose lead as he was super excited so we wanted to encourage him to settle and calm down. This took him a while but once he realised he was not getting away with the behaviour he settled and we were able to continue. He is very food motivated which enabled the trainer to lure him to the correct position (left side of trainer) and reward when making good decisions. He is still easily distracted which is to be expected with a puppy but overall he is developing a good understanding.||Focus: Distraction||C+|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Today Arlo also did some place training around his big brother Diego. Our main focus was sending him to and from place and as this progresses it will assist with redirecting away from Diego when he is getting a little too full on. He has a good understanding of his markers now which will further improve the skill. He did okay with duration on place and eventually settled into a drop without being prompted.||Focus: Foundation||C+|
|Skill learnt: Desensitisation||Comment: Arlo's last session was with his big brother Diego! The main focus of conditioning him to grooming and handling which included brushed, ear check, teeth check and handling of his paws. As he is still young he is a wriggly little worm so continuous treats were required to keep him settled and reinforce the handling. He was pretty good with his ears but mouth and paw handling will be required more work on as he is not as comfortable with it.||Focus: Desensitisation||C+|
