Arlo's Doggy Dayschool Report

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For Arlo's first session we took him outside to work on his loose lead around other dogs. Arlo was a bit distracted today with a new trainer and didn't always listen but as the session progressed he started engaging better and was able to do drops and spins outside with no issues by the end of the session. He didn't seem bothered by the other dog training near him and didn't react to a small dog barking at the gate. Next time we'd like to continue making sure Arlo is not bothered by other dogs when walking and training. At home keep up the great work with his walks and continue testing him with other skills while walking. Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: For his second session we worked on red light /green light drops to help with Arlo's jumping behaviour. Arlo did really well at dropping when asked to outside even when playing and chasing the trainer. Near the end of the session he did get quite tired and would drop slower but still did really well overall! Next time we'd like to continue using Arlo's obedience skills while he is in an excited state for better control and focus when he is being a bit energetic. At home use drops when he is getting excitable and make sure his jumping is not encouraged or allowed by anyone in the household - everyone needs to be on the same page. Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: For his last session we continued work on Arlo's place skill with varied objects. He was a bit unsure of the other objects and had to be encouraged/lured onto some of them to remember that they can be place too. He did struggle most with a soft mat so this can be something to work on next time. As the session progressed he started doing really well and would sit on the mats when sent to place. Next time we'd like to continue this so that Arlo can be sent to place anywhere, anytime. At home use towels and other objects for his place skill to help build this skill. Focus: Repetition B
