Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: For Arlo’s first session today we heard that he was holding a grudge with a certain cat statue from this morning. So we worked on conditioning to the statue using his drop skill and his reward markers. He did really well with this, every time he looked at the statue he would receive a reward. By the end of the session he couldn’t care less about the statue and was able to do drops around the statue and the outdoor cat run. Focus: Conditioning B+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For Arlo’s second session today we really pushed the distractions for loose lead. While everyone was outside training we had him waking through the carpark close to all the action. He was super engaged the entire time and didn’t try to say hello to anyone. We were able to walk around, change directions and throw in some emergency drops and he did it all so well! To work on this further it just needs practice in these kinds of environments but he did really well today! Focus: Distraction A
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For Arlo’s last session today we worked on his ring toss skill. Since he is so food motivated he was extremely eager to figure it out. He would pick up the ring and drop it but not anywhere near the target. He did manage to fluke it once, so we jackpotted it with lots of treats but he didn’t actually understand what he had done. This skill just needs practice but he wont take long! Focus: Repetition C+
