|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Due to the distracting environment around Windamere the trainer used this opportunity to work on Arlo's loose lead skills. Arlo was very distracted so the training used 'drop' to help him settle and take on the environment. After a few moments he calmed down and they were able to continue walking, focusing on his engagement. The trainer regularly got him into a drop when approaching a possible distraction. This really helped with redirecting his focus and preventing unwanted behaviour (pulling). Overall he did really well with the farm animals, workers, dogs and machinery.||Focus: Distraction||B+|
|Skill learnt: Recall||Comment: The trainer wanted to work on Arlo's recall within the outside environment. This was really challenging for Arlo as this environment was not as familiar to him so he was more distracted. The trainer utilised a long line at which she was able to communicate with him when he was not following through with the command (slight pressure). He was very responsive to this and after a few repetitions he was smashing his recalls in the distracting environment (see insta stories for reference).||Focus: Distraction||B+|
|Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building)||Comment: To end the day Arlo had a turn in the obstacle course! He remembered this from last time and was excited and eager to enter! He also made the trainer work hard as he loved chasing her around the course! He easily picked up speed and coordination (which he didn't have last time haha). Such a super star!||Focus: Confidence||A+|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Between sessions Arlo enjoyed relaxing in the classroom watching all the other doggies train.||Focus: Duration||A+|
