Arlo's Doggy Dayschool Report

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object) Comment: Today Arlo began with his ‘paws up’ skill. The trainer began with just a plastic pod and he did very well, he comfortably put 2 paws on and stayed until released. The trainer then switch him over to an inflatable pod with small spikes on the top. Arlo was more concerned about this and started off with only whacking it, but with some encouragement he was able to rest 1 paw comfortably. He only put both front paws on twice, but this was still a great effort! Keep up the great work at home and see if you can help him be more confident with this skill! Focus: Confidence B
Skill learnt: Targeting (touch) Comment: Next up, Arlo revisited his ‘ring toss’ skill. The trainer was just encouraging him to drop the ring closer towards the stick and he was able to drop it on, twice!! It took majority of the session but he got there and we are so proud! As he dropped it on, we gave him a jackpot reward, and we would still reward his other efforts but only with one treat. Keep up the awesome work at home, he is really getting the hang of it! Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Lastly, Arlo worked on his ‘emergency drops’ outside in the sunshine. Arlo is a very clever boy and dropped when asked, although a couple of them were on the slow side! He would remain in this skill even when the trainer would continue walking/jogging off and not moving a muscle until released, which is great! The next step will to be add more high level distractions outside and test his engagement some more. Pawesome work today Mr Arlo. Focus: Distraction A
