Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: In his first session, Archie focused on conditioning to the classroom. We focused on this skill as during his last session Archie was nervous of the classroom and wouldn't enter. Today Archie was happy to see the trainer, although he did show similar behaviours when walking towards the classroom. However, as the session progressed, he began showing more confident and inquisitive behaviours when walking to the classroom. Slowly he began to look inside and enter. Once inside he was initially nervous, but was taking treats and listening to commands. Focus: Conditioning X
Skill learnt: Crate Training Comment: his second session, Archie focused on further developing his skill drop with duration. We focused on this as Archie knows the drop command well but struggles with duration. Archie performed well, he initially broke drop quickly but as the session progressed he began to hold his drop for longer. Halfway through the session another trainer walked into the classroom, this caused Archie to become nervous and dropped to the floor where the trainer was unable to get him up again. The trainer spent this time conditioning Archie to the new trainer, until he was comfortable moving again. Focus: Duration C+
Skill learnt: Exposure Comment: In his final session, Archie focused on building his confidence further around the pet retreat facility with an exposure walk, incorporating his sit and drop. Throughout this session we also picked random times to walk back into the classroom to see his progress. While walking out and about he showed good confidence and continued to respond to both his sit and drop commands while outside in a highly distracting environment. When walking back to the classroom he walked nicely and straight into the classroom with no issues. Focus: Confidence X
