Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning Comment: For Annabelle’s first session today we worked in her kennel practicing her muzzle skill. She was quite hesitant for the muzzle to go on so we just waited with the muzzle out and treats inside it. Eventually she stuck her snout into the muzzle and got the treats. We just repeated this for her first session, just building up the duration each time she had her nose in the muzzle. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning Comment: For her second session today we worked more on her muzzle training. We focused specifically on duration, getting her to hold her nose in there longer and longer each time. After a few minutes of constant treat dispensing through the bottom of the muzzle she was holding her nose there. By the end of the session she was holding her nose in the muzzle while we got a treat out of the pouch. If we waited too long though, she would pull her nose out and then put it back in for the treat. Focus: Repetition A
Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning Comment: For her last session today we worked on her muzzle duration and got her outside for a little walk. We were able to hold the treats in the muzzle and do it up around the back while she was distracted. Once she was all ready to go we headed out but had to wait for the hail to pass. While the weather was terrible we worked on her sit skill, getting her in position and then rewarding. After a bit we ventured outside and she got to have a lovely explore. Focus: Repetition A
