Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Amora’s first session was loose lead walking. She was a little pushy to start with and leaning into the trainer a lot. The trainer changed direction and soon Amora was walking very well. There was one point where Amora did stop to bark at another dog but the trainer used the Uhuh word, turned around and continued walking. Once Amora settled again the trainer used the yes marker and Amora ended the session well. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: Awesome work for the second session, grooming conditioning. At first Amora wasn’t to keen on the brush and moved around a lot to get to the brush. The trainer then put Amora on place and this help enormously. The trainer used the Uhuh word as Amora kept trying to smell the brush and used the yes marker when the brush was able to be used. By the end of the session Amora had a good brush all over and stood quite well for it! Great work Miss. Focus: Desensitisation B+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Last up was place to really help Amora learn to settle and relax on place. Amora does have a hard time settling during place sessions and constantly gets up and moves around in place and when bored will try to get off. The trainer really persevered with Amora with low distractions and a few times Amora did lie down. She was rewarded heavily for this. At home keep it low key. Reward Amora lying down and it could be a long process to really help her accepting to settle on place. Good practice time for this is while you watch tv. Increase treats is she breaks a lot. Focus: Duration C+
