|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Amora’s first session was loose lead walking and sit drop sit. The trainer started the session in the kennels and Amora was very keen to get though to the main kennel area. Perfect opportunity to practice some door manners! Once out to the kennels Amora had settled better and wasn’t pulling as much. Amora did a great job and despite the noise was quite focused. Once through the kennel the trainer focused more on sit drop sit. Amora was a little reluctant to drop the first few times. The trainer used the Uhuh word and a little leash pressure and Amora did better at drops. From there the trainer worked on getting Amora back into a sit. At first a food lure was but as the session progressed the trainer was able to fade the lure. But at times a little leash pressure was needed. Next time the goal will be to be using verbal cues only.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Ring a Bell||Comment: Next up was ring the bell. It only took a couple of minutes for Amora to work out that the bell in some way equaled treats. As Amora offered different behaviours the trainer rewarded Amora touching the bell. Amora started to do this consistently so the trainer started to ask for more behaviour. Amora actually ringing the bell. However Amora started to offer her paw touching the bell. The trainer went with this and by the end of the session Amora was consistently touching the bell with her paw. Next time the trainer will work towards actual bell ringing.||Focus: Repetition||C+|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Last up was place. The trainer did this outside near the kennel yards. Amora did at first walk straight off the bed but soon realised she had a job to do. This session was great for Amora as a staff member came passed a couple of times and Amora did an amazing job of holding place!! She did break a few times but lie down! Very impressed with Amora with this session.||Focus: Distraction||B+|
