Ryley's Hydro Report

2022-07-20

Splish, splash! What a great day for a swim in the warm hydro Pool! It was our PLEASURE to take your dog for a lesson of swimming with the Noahs Crossing Vet team.

Hydrotherapy is not just fun it comes with numerous benefits such as low impact exercise for muscles and joint, helps build on the dogs confidence and fitness, it is a great exposure experience and helps to build on your dogs swimming style and confidence with water.

After their swim you may find they will either be full of energy with a second boost of adrenaline or they will be out like a light snoozing off today's accomplishments. Either way, they deserve it!

Please find below some quick notes given by the qualified Hydro-therapist and a note from our team how the dog was during their time with us.

A word from us

Ryley did so well for his hydrotherapy session today. He was a little nervous when first going into the pool but once in started to swim instantly. Initially the hydrotherapist had to use alot of encouragement to get Ryley to step off the ledge but towards the end he was jumping off with very little. He was doing full length laps and even did some circles towards the end. He was so tired towards the end that he slept the whole way back to Hedgegrove.

A word from Noah's

The hydrotherapist was so impressed with Ryley especially as it was his first swim. They said that Hydrotherapy will be very beneficial to him as he is a growing pup and especially as the German Shepard breed has so many complications with their hip joints. Continuing Hydrotherapy will help his joints in the long term as when swimming dogs tend to have a greater stride length than in water creating a greater Range of Movement which transfers to their normal walking. Hydrotherapy helps to maintain and improve joint quality which as a result creates a greater quality of life especially in the later stages.
